KnowHow2GOWisconsin Undergraduate Ambassador

KnowHow2GOWisconsin is looking for undergraduates from all backgrounds and colleges to help form a statewide network of ambassadors who will help middle and high school students on their journeys to college. Ambassadors will share their personal experiences, as well as campaign resources, to raise awareness of the steps necessary to prepare for college.
A statewide public service campaign, KnowHow2GOWisconsin aims to educate middle and high school students — primarily low-income and those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. Campaign partners include the University of Wisconsin System, the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Wisconsin Technical College System, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation, and the Wisconsin Covenant.

As a KnowHow2GOWisconsin Ambassador, you will:

  • Present information about KnowHow2GOWisconsin and represent the campaign at various education, campus, and/or KnowHow2GOWisconsin events.
  • Post responses or messages on the KnowHow2GOWisconsin message board 15 times a semester addressing the topics of college preparedness, journeys to college, and/or college life.
  • Join fellow college students in KnowHow2GOWisconsin Ambassador webinars to learn best practices for communicating to middle and high school students the necessary steps for getting to college.

In return for your dedicated work, you will:

  • Make a difference in the lives of students and families throughout the state
  • Develop valuable communication and leadership skills
  • Earn documents for your professional portfolio
  • Receive opportunities to participate in exciting KnowHow2GOWisconsin events
  • Be a part of a dynamic, statewide organization

We are looking for college students who are dedicated to sharing their educational journey and the message of college preparedness. Please note, this is a volunteer unpaid position.  Eligible students must:

  • Be in good academic standing and have 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Be continuing college or university students for Fall 2009 semester
  • Have the ability to interact with students from a broad spectrum of backgrounds
  • Conduct themselves in a mature and professional manner
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a positive outlook
  • Provide contact information for two references
