Pre-college programs are aimed at helping students prepare for college.  They give them the opportunity to investigate careers, conduct research, build a portfolio, experience college life, develop academic skills and/or prepare for college enrollment.  Almost every college (2 and 4 year) in the state of Wisconsin offers pre-college programs.  Contact a college in your area to find out about these opportunities.  Students in the Milwaukee area can use the Directory of College Access Programs.  You may also be interested in a wider variety of youth programs (precollege, outdoor programs, and athletic camps) offered through the public colleges and universities in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Education Fairs (WEFs) are held in many locations around the state in September and October.  They are free, and over 100 admission representatives from all over the region are there to answer families’ and counselors’ questions about college.
